2008 - Montana Men's Gathering

The 2007 Montana Men’s Gathering

September 25 – 28

At Camp Mimanagish
South of Big Timber, Montana

The Montana Men’s Foundation invites you to attend its annual gathering at beautiful Camp Mimanagish on the Boulder River south of Big Timber, Montana. This retreat is open to All men of All ages! Come join us to “retreat” from the ever-accelerating pace and stress of modern life to find restoration, renewal, and community, and to celebrate our individual and collective journeys as men. In an effort to accommodate more participants we’re offering a shorter format this year.
The gathering will run Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon,September 25 - 28.

It can be challenging to step out of the daily routine to find time for reflection and self-care. We may have forgotten (or have never experienced!) the solace and sustenance of healthy male comradery. So we call to you to join us, to share your story, find self-connection and experience the creative intelligence that can manifest in an intentional circle of men.

This road demands courage and stamina, yet it's full of
footprints!
Who are these companions?
They are rungs in your ladder. Use them!
With company you quicken your ascent.
You may be happy enough going along, but with others
you'll get farther, and faster.

- Rumi

And you can experience joy! Together we’ll step out of linear time into tribal, cyclic time… where we’ll watch the turning of the seasons, explore our inner and outer natures, and pay attention to what the moment offers us. Together we will create a space for heart-felt communication, restorative practices, creative play, and discovery.

Two truths approach each other.

One comes from inside,
The other from outside,
And where they meet
We have a chance to catch sight of ourselves.

– Tomas Transtromer

In the tradition of numerous past gatherings, we will offer meaningful practices led by the facilitators and community members, including: rhythm and song, yoga and movement, self-awareness, creative expression, simple rituals for connection and meaning, sweat lodges, time on the land, and more.

We look forward to having you with us this September!
