As you may see in other sections of this website, I am currently working with the Great Falls Clinic. I work there with cancer patients, family members, and others from the community.
Though I’ve been in practice for 8 years in Montana, I am pleased to have been working directly with the Clinic for the past year. In my hypnotherapy sessions I teach patients and family members a safe, empowering way to experience a healing state of hypnosis. Patients are often surprised how conscious they are, in control, and at the same time, able to shift into very positive feelings and attitudes.
Once they experience this safe, natural way of connecting with their own inner resources they see many benefits. Gérard V. Sunnen, M.D at NYU-Bellevue Medical Center in New York summarizes the ways hypnotherapy can be effective in cancer treatment, “Adjunctive hypnotic therapy in cancer may be directed to many levels of its manifestations. Physical symptoms of cancer, the most common of which are pain and fatigue, and the physical effects of its treatment may be alleviated to enhance quality of life. Hypnotherapy can significantly help patients through medical procedures and operations. Hypnosis may also be woven into psychotherapy to assist the uniquely personal adjustments facing each individual. Self hypnosis allows patients to actively contribute to their treatment. Finally, hypnosis and self-hypnosis may be recruited to stimulate healing spiritual discoveries.”
I’ve found hypnotherapy to be especially valuable for rebuilding a persons self-esteem and confidence. It is important in times of challenge or change to know you can do something positive to care for yourself. You can rebuild a loving, validating sense of your body, heart and mind. This helps helps you heal. I look forward to helping more people learn the power of their own mind to heal themselves.
