This will be an intermediate level session of communication skills. The first evening will offer a brief summary the basics of NVC, and will help get relative newcomers up to speed with the practice of connecting feelings and needs, holding a person and yourself with empathy, and learning to hear and express authentically and connectively. It is recommended that you read Marshal Rosenberg's book, "Nonviolent Communication" before this class. (Patrick has copies available.)
The remaining three classes will go more in depth into practicing ways of applying your communication skills directly into the various relationships in your life. Bring your challenging situations and scenarios and we will explore ways in class, in smaller groups, and in dyads, to stay self-connected and express yourself clearly with compassion.
Patrick Marsolek
works with businesses, individuals and families on how to communicate
effectively and compassionately and how to access untapped resources
for growth and effectiveness. He is a Clinical Hypnotherapist in Helena and Great Falls and the author of “Transform Yourself: A self-hypnosis manual.” He has produced a series of self-empowerment audio recordings.
This class will include the fundamental elements of Compassionate Communication from the work of Marshall Rosenberg and the Center for
NonViolent Communication. You can become more loving and compassionate towards yourself as well to everyone else in your life.
