November/December Events

Greetings and happy fall!

I hope you're finding time to pull back from the frantic political season to breath and self-connect! I personally find it helpful to remember I'm a physical being living in a landscape – to get out and breathe, move. This activity helps me shift my awareness of what is alive and moving around me, as well as within me, and to lighten up!

"Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing." – William James.

Following are a list of activities coming up. Feel free to pass these along to friends.

I'm especially excited to be facilitating with Kathleen Kennedy next Saturday, focusing on Joanna Macy's Work that Reconnects. I hope you'll come join us!

Also, my Relaxation Techniques CD is on sale through the Holidays for only $13!

Warm regards,

Patrick

Ps – You can see a video of a performance piece I did with Lori for the Day of the Dead cabaret, entitled – "The Companionship of Light and Dark."

Work that Reconnects:  Coming Back to Life
Kathleen Kennedy and Patrick Marsolek
Red Willow Learning Center, Missoula MT

Coming Back to Life: At a time when ecological, economic and political systems are unraveling, some people choose to ignore or deny these realities while others find themselves overwhelmed if not paralyzed by their awareness and concern.  The Work that Reconnects offers us another way to respond to the pain we experience by engaging our hearts, minds and spirits in order to deepen and repair our connections to ourselves, our human community and all planetary life.

Based on group practices developed by eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, this workshop will help you acknowledge and respond to the full range of feelings you experience during this pivotal time in our human journey.  Using dialogue, ritual and contemplation we will move through a spiral path of gratitude, owning our pain, seeing with new eyes and going forth renewed and reconnected.  For an introduction to Joanna Macy and the Work that Reconnects visit www.joannamacy.net.

Course schedule:  Saturday, November 10, 9:00a-4:00pm

Course cost:  $80.00

Solstice Trance Drumming and Intuitive Self-exploration – Missoula

Friday, December 21st – 6:30 until 9:30 PM.  – Cost – $35

Join Patrick Marsolek for a workshop using the sounds of the drum and the rattle and other conscious mechanisms for exploring and experiencing trance. Through trance we gain access to deeper parts of ourselves and of our collective group energy for insight, clarity of purpose, healing, and even personal transformation.

Within the group space, individuals will be able to go deeper into their own experience of  trance and explore their own personal intentions. We will also explore the manifestation of group intention and spirit guidance. Within the container of a group trance, personal experiences can take on larger, more profound meanings that are relevant to more than one person or even to the whole group.
