Holiday Events

Greetings and happy holidays!

Is it getting busy for you yet this holiday season? I hope you remember to connect with the parts of you that are larger, non-linear and more expansive during the busyness of the season. I find for me, an intentional, illogical slowing to breathe, doing my sitting practice, and even getting out for a walk helps me remember that I also am large and spacious with unlimited time. This can even happen in the brief time between breaths and cascading images and thoughts!

Here's a short poem on losing one's self to the space:

A Man Lost By A River

There is a voice inside the body.

There is a voice and a music,
a throbbing, four-chambered pear
that wants to be heard, that sits
alone by the river with its mandolin
and its torn coat, and sings
for whomever will listen
a song that no one wants to hear.

But sometimes, lost,
on his way to somewhere significant,
a man in a long coat, carrying
a briefcase, wanders into the forest.

He hears the voice and the mandolin,
he sees the thrush and the dandelion,
and he feels the mist rise over the river.

And his life is never the same,
for this having been lost–
for having strayed from the path of his routine,
for no good reason.

– Michael Blumenthal

Following are a list of activities coming up in the next month. Feel free to pass these along to friends.

Also, my Relaxation Techniques CD is still on sale through the Holidays for only $13!

Warm regards,

Patrick

A free lecture on what Compassionate Communication is and how to use it.

Some of the basics of this model are;

  • Connecting Needs to Feelings.
  • Learning how to make connective requests.
  • Learning how to receive information clearly without judgement.
  • Recognizing our own needs when we're judgemental.
  • Giving and receiving empathy.
  • How to respond when we hear a "NO".
  • How to express our needs so that they're more easily heard.

We will get some hands-on practice!

Solstice Trance Drumming and Intuitive Self-exploration – Missoula

Friday, December 21st – 6:30 until 9:30 PM.  – Cost – $35

Join Patrick Marsolek for a workshop using the sounds of the drum and the rattle and other conscious mechanisms for exploring and experiencing trance. Through trance we gain access to deeper parts of ourselves and of our collective group energy for insight, clarity of purpose, healing, and even personal transformation.

Within the group space, individuals will be able to go deeper into their own experience of  trance and explore their own personal intentions. We will also explore the manifestation of group intention and spirit guidance. Within the container of a group trance, personal experiences can take on larger, more profound meanings that are relevant to more than one person or even to the whole group.
